The History of PEAK

The story of Peak Health & Wellness Centers began more than 44 years ago when Ironwood Athletic Club first opened its doors on Ironwood Drive in Coeur d’Alene. At that time, the greater Coeur d’Alene area had a population of approximately 30,000 residents. Ironwood Athletic Club quickly became a leader in health and fitness for the growing community.

As the region continued to grow, so did the club. Over the years, additional locations were added in Hayden and Post Falls. Through several renovations, expansions, and the support of thousands of loyal members, those clubs evolved into what they are today — PEAK Health & Wellness Centers.

With local, private ownership, PEAK Health & Wellness Centers have been committed to the health and wellbeing of community members since the early 1980s. The focus of this ownership group has always been to provide the very best in facilities, programming, and services that the health and fitness industry has to offer.

The Coeur d’Alene location recently completed a two-phase renovation that included a new group fitness and training area, along with a completely redesigned front desk, reception area, and member lounge.

Growth of the Hayden Campus

An exciting addition to the PEAK family came in March of 2014 — a new 50,000+ square foot building was built with the opening of a four-court, state-of-the-art indoor tennis facility in Hayden, Idaho. We moved our tennis program to Hayden and this facility quickly became a home for tennis players throughout the region, while also giving many community members their first opportunity to discover and enjoy the game of tennis.

On February 24, 2016, the second phase of the tennis center was completed with the addition of a 10,000 square foot second story expansion. This expansion included:

• A new weight room
• Cardio deck
• Training area with turf
• Brand new Hot Yoga studio
• Two group fitness studios
• A dedicated group cycling studio

The facility also introduced a unique combination pickleball court and basketball area, further expanding recreational opportunities for members.

Fall 2018 – Indoor Pickleball Expansion

The Hayden facility expanded by 7,500 square feet to add four state-of-the-art indoor pickleball courts. PEAK launched the first comprehensive pickleball program in Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington, offering professional instruction, leagues, clinics, open play, and tournaments.

Fall 2019 – Launch of MUV Tribe Training

Peak introduced MUV Tribe Training, a small-group training program designed to create a motivating and supportive workout community. Each facility added a dedicated training space of more than 800 square feet equipped with turf, cardio equipment, slam balls, kettlebells, ladders, plyometric boxes, and other functional training tools.

July 2024 – Opening of New PEAK Post Falls

PEAK opened its newest and largest facility in Post Falls, located in a rapidly growing area just off Prairie Avenue and Highway 41.

The new club features 54,268 square feet of indoor fitness space and 9,000 square feet dedicated to eight outdoor pickleball courts.

The facility includes:

• Large weight room and cardio deck
• Small group training studio
• 8 indoor pickleball courts
• Group fitness studio
• Indoor and outdoor Kids Club
• Juice bar and pro shop
• Full locker room facilities with lockers, showers, steam rooms, and dry saunas

January 2026 – Ironwood Remodel

The original Ironwood Drive location recently completed a major remodel that included a complete facelift of the weight room and cardio deck. The renovation also relocated and expanded the Kids Club into a new area featuring more than 1,200 square feet of indoor and outdoor play space designed specifically for Peak Kids.

Today, Peak serves thousands of members across three facilities.
